 Welcome to Ascend Treks where adventure meets authenticity.

My name is Govinda Subedi (Guide Govinda) and I am incredibly excited to share the story behind this company with you. For years, I worked as a guide, leading groups of adventurers through some of the most breathtaking trails and cultural landmarks in Nepal. I have witnessed countless moments of awe and joy on these journeys, from seeing trekkers reach the summit of a mountain to sharing stories around a campfire. It’s been my life’s work to connect people with the wonders of the outdoors and the rich heritage of our local communities.

    When the world came to a standstill during the COVID-19 pandemic I, like many others, had time to reflect. Those months were challenging for the travel and tourism industry, but they also gave me a renewed sense of purpose. I realized how much I missed helping people explore the natural world, especially after seeing how much we all yearn for a sense of freedom, connection and adventure during isolating times. This reflection led me to take the leap and start my own trekking and tour company, built on the values I have cherished throughout my career: authenticity, sustainability and personalized experiences.

   As someone who has been in the field for over 15 years I know that the success of any trip lies in the details. That’s why we prioritize working with local community hiring skilled guides and  respecting the environment wherever we go. Starting this company has been a dream come true and it would not have been possible without the support and encouragement of the adventurers. I have had the privilege of guiding over the years.
