The Kanchanjunga Base Camp Trek is a challenging yet rewarding journey, offering an unforgettable journey to the remote and pristine eastern Himalayas. Day 01 :

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore the bustling streets of Kathmandu, prepare for the trek, and enjoy a welcome dinner.

Day 02 :

Flight from Kathmandu to Birtamod (45 minutes) and Drive to Taplejung (1,870m)

An early morning flight takes you to Birtamod, offering aerial views of the Himalayan foothills. Upon landing, a scenic 9-hour jeep drive through winding roads and lush green hills brings you to Taplejung, the starting point of your trek. Overnight in Taplejung.

Day 03 :

Drive from Taplejung to Sekathum (1,576m) – 5 Hours by Jeep

A short jeep ride takes you deeper into the region, following narrow mountain roads and passing terraced fields and small villages. You’ll arrive in Sekathum, a quaint village along the Tamor River, where you will rest for the night.

Day 04 :

Trek from Sekathum to Amjelosa (2,400m) – 5 Hours

The trekking adventure begins with a steady climb through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests. The trail passes small streams and suspension bridges, gradually ascending to Amjelosa, a peaceful hamlet surrounded by lush vegetation.

Day 05 :

Trek from Amjelosa to Gyabla (2,730m) – 6 Hours

The trail continues through beautiful landscapes, including waterfalls and deep gorges. You will climb steadily, passing through forested areas with glimpses of the mountains before reaching Gyabla, a small settlement perched on a hillside.

Day 06 :

Trek from Gyabla to Gunsa (3,415m) – 6 Hours

The trail becomes more rugged as you ascend to Gunsa, a picturesque village known for its traditional stone houses and prayer flags fluttering in the wind. Gunsa is a significant stop, offering a glimpse of the region's Sherpa culture.

Day 07 :

Trek from Gunsa to Khambachen (4,050m) – 7 Hours

The trek becomes more challenging as you climb to Khambachen. The trail passes through alpine terrain, with spectacular views of snow-capped peaks, including Jannu. Khambachen is a remote village that offers a serene atmosphere for trekkers.

Day 08 :

Trek from Khambachen to Chonak (4,780m) – 7 Hours

The path to Chonak is steep and rocky, with the landscape becoming increasingly barren and dramatic. You will be surrounded by breathtaking views of towering peaks as you make your way to this high-altitude camp.

Day 09 :

Trek from Chonak to Pangpema (5,143m) and Return – 6 Hours

This day takes you to Pangpema, the base camp of the Kanchenjunga North Face. The trek offers panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga massif and surrounding peaks. After spending some time at the base camp, you will return to Chonak for the night.

Day 10 :

Trek from Chonak to Ghunsa – 7 Hours

Retracing your steps, you descend to Ghunsa for an acclimatization day. This descent allows your body to adjust to the altitude before continuing the trek. Relax and explore the village during your stay.

Day 11 :

Trek from Ghunsa to Selele Camp (4,130m) – 7 Hours

The trek resumes with a climb to Selele Camp, passing through high mountain trails and remote landscapes. The camp offers a serene setting amidst towering peaks and is a perfect spot to rest before crossing the passes.

Day 12 :

Trek from Selele Camp to Tseram (3,870m) – 7 Hours

You will cross high mountain passes and descend to Tseram, a small village located in a valley. The route offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks and pristine alpine terrain.

Day 13 :

Trek from Tseram to Oktang (4,730m) – 4 Hours

A shorter trek takes you to Oktang, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga South Face. This area is considered sacred by the locals and offers a spiritual as well as scenic experience.

Day 14 :

Trek from Tseram to Totorang (2,990m) – 6 Hours

The descent continues as you make your way to Totorang, passing through forested areas and terraced fields. The trail offers a mix of challenging paths and tranquil sections.

Day 15 :

Trek from Totorang to Hallok (2,300m) – 6 Hours

The trek takes you through rural villages and lush landscapes as you descend further. Hallok is a small village offering a glimpse of traditional Nepali life and a warm place to rest for the night.

Day 16 :

Drive from Hallok to Taplejung – 7 Hours by Jeep

The trek concludes with a scenic jeep drive back to Taplejung. This final leg of the journey allows you to relax and enjoy the views of the region’s rolling hills and quaint villages.

Day 17 :

Drive from Taplejung to Birtamod – 9 Hours by Jeep

A full day of driving takes you back to Birtamod. The journey winds through picturesque landscapes, offering a final chance to soak in the beauty of the region before returning to urban areas.

Day 18 :

Flight from Birtamod to Kathmandu – 45 Minutes

A short flight brings you back to Kathmandu, where you can relax and reflect on the incredible journey. Enjoy some free time to explore the city and shop for souvenirs.

Day 19 :

Final Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure flight. With unforgettable memories and a sense of accomplishment, your adventure comes to an end.
