Nar Phu Valley Trek

You arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, where you are greeted by your guide or representative. A short transfer takes you to your hotel in the heart of the bustling city. After check-in, you have time to relax or explore nearby attractions. In the evening, you enjoy a warm welcome dinner and a briefing about the upcoming adventure.

The day begins with an early breakfast and a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Dharapani. Passing through green valleys, rivers, and terraced fields, the route takes you via Besi Sahar, the starting point of the Annapurna Circuit. The long journey of 9-10 hours is rewarded with views of lush landscapes and traditional villages. Upon arrival in Dharapani, you check into a teahouse and prepare for the trek ahead.

Your first trekking day starts with a hearty breakfast. The trail ascends gradually through forests of pine and oak, offering glimpses of waterfalls and traditional houses. You cross suspension bridges and trek along the Marsyangdi River, reaching the small village of Koto after 5-6 hours. Surrounded by mountains, Koto offers a peaceful setting for an overnight stay.

Today’s trek leads deeper into the Manang region, with a challenging yet rewarding route. You enter the Naar-Phu Valley through a narrow gorge and follow rugged trails surrounded by towering cliffs. Ascending steadily, you reach Meta after 7 hours. The village provides stunning views of snow-capped peaks and marks the beginning of the high-altitude journey.

The trail from Meta to Phu Village is an adventurous one, taking approximately 7 hours. The path traverses barren landscapes, ancient chortens, and prayer flags. As you approach Phu, the landscape transforms into a remote Himalayan settlement. Upon arrival, you are greeted with the unique culture and traditions of the Tibetan-influenced Phu Gaun.

To adapt to the high altitude, you spend the day exploring Phu Village. You visit the ancient Tashi Lhakhang Monastery and interact with the local people, learning about their way of life. The breathtaking views of Himlung Himal and the serene environment make it an unforgettable experience.

After a relaxing day, you embark on a 6-7 hour trek to Naar Village. The trail involves crossing suspension bridges and descending into gorges before climbing to the picturesque Naar Village. Known for its vibrant culture and traditional houses, Naar offers a unique blend of natural beauty and local heritage.

Another acclimatization day allows you to explore the vibrant Naar Village. You wander through narrow alleys, interact with locals, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. This day helps you adjust to the altitude in preparation for crossing the challenging Kang La Pass.

This is one of the most challenging yet rewarding days of the trek. You ascend to Kang La Pass, which offers breathtaking views of Annapurna II, Gangapurna, and other peaks. After enjoying the views, you descend to Ngawal, a charming village with traditional architecture and a welcoming atmosphere. The day’s trek takes about 8 hours.

The final trekking day involves a scenic walk from Ngawal to Pisang, descending through forests and pastures. Once at Pisang, you board a jeep for the drive back to Besi Sahar, enjoying the transition from high-altitude terrain to lush green valleys. The day’s activities take 7-8 hours.

After breakfast, you begin the journey back to Kathmandu or Pokhara. The 4-7 hour drive offers a chance to reflect on the incredible trek and enjoy the final views of Nepal’s countryside. Upon arrival, you check into your hotel and have the evening free to relax or explore the city.

Your adventure concludes as you transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure. You leave Nepal with unforgettable memories of the Himalayas, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality.
